programs & polyphony

I'm a newbie as it comes to using several programs in one song.
Does using several programs at once also eat up the polyphony? or is 32 polyphony only limited to 32 voices when you use only 1 program in a song?
In other words, could I play 24 programs at once without affecting each other? dumb question maybe, but it takes a lot time to find out.

i think 32 polyphony is 32 polyphony no matter how many programs u use as long as the amount of samples in memory doesnt exceed what the mpc can handle should be all good
