Timestreching

Gday

I know that this has probably been covered before but:

I've got an mpc1000 with os2.0, i've had it bout two months now and am just starting to sample.
I'm trying to sample off my ipod using the analog inputs, whenever i timestrech the sample down to match my bpm (sample is 174 bpm and my sequence is set to 90) it sounds rubbish. the sample comes out sounding stacatto like.
Is this cause i'm streching it too much, an mpc bug or is it because i'm using mp3 files off my ipod.?
any good tutorials out there/?

i dont own a 1g but i dont think it has timestretch

i was wondering the same thing.

Thanks muchly, i'll give it a crack tonight....
was wonderin if i should try make a patch phrase or something like that out of the sample to fix this but ya have put me right....

Are those tip books you can get any help or am i better off savin my coin and readin these sites?/?
