When recording vocals directly into the mpc1000, is it possible to tigger the song when you press record. Because so far, iv been pressing a pad to trigger my song and pressing record at the same time, in order to keep my vocals on time.
Shurely there must be an easier way.

add one bar at the beginning of the song and programme it for any kind of metronome sound, so when you press PLAY you hear the ticks, you get ready to sing, and you can easily press record when needed to start recording your voice.
When you're done, just delete the (now) useless bar.

Take also a look at the built in metronome options of the MPC as well, there may be one that fits your needs (e.g. COUNT IN: YES).

That's exactly how I use to do it on my ASR10 when I had nothing else.
