programm numbers

when i create a new programm, the numbers of the pads are always messed up (for exemple the first pad got the number 37 the second pad 59 and so on) is it possible that when i create a new programm, that the numbers would automatically be in the correcrt order? (i mean the first pad got the number "35" the second "36" the third "37" and so till the last pad with the number "95" ??

This is done to rearange pads for GM drum kits in a way that the most important drums are all aranged together. It really shouldn't effect you unless you need things in order on a keyboard.

Just go through manually and set it up the way you like it and save the sequence as "blank" or something. Then just start up with that program every time when you need it. Or you can even set it up as your autoload and have it ready every time you power up.

Or you can use the chromatic?(cant remember what its called) feature it will automatically arrange the pads in numerical order.

I think its SHIFT + PRGM, Select Drum 1-4, Then its F4 i think. i dont have my mp close at the moment to look.

On the 2k I did this manually, to create a 'template which I then use for all my new programs. I just copy it into all 24 locations.

That method will arange the pads correctly, but keep in mind it will also throw off the tuning on each pad, so you would have to manually fix that instead (or your samples will sound slow/fast). That still might be the faster way to create the template.

you can go to auto chrom on the XL and dont assign any sounds but press do it, it will assign the midi note chromatly, this is good for playing external devices from the mpc's pads chromaticly, instead of the default GM mapping.
