Hey Guys  HELP HELP HELP I Need to known one thing. I have install a atapi/ide drive in my mpc2000xL. It still boots up, but it does not see the zip drive. The drive is working in my computer I have loaded samples on it. Should I just get a scsi zip drive and leave the atapi/ide drive in my computer?

And the mpc2000xL see the floppy drive when i install it.

Thanks

yeah bro. I had the same problem, only I was installing a CF Card Reader (which in all reality... you should prolly go that route instead of a zip drive).

For me, the problem was that I wasnt pushing the end of IDE ribbon cable deep enough into its slot on the motherboard as it needed to be. Be careful, you dont want to push it soo hard that you snap the board...but you have to be pretty firm with it. Try and stick a finger under that section of the board where the slot is...that way when your pushing down the ribbon cable you'll have some support under there by way of your finger. It needs to sit in there pretty far down, you'll know when its really set in there good.

After I pushed the IDE connector into its slot firmly, everything showed up on the screen like a charm.

Hope this helps.

yep i had the same problem, its always the case with expensive gear, you dont wanna push to hard on the boards, but it needs a firm touch to get them connectors in some times.

Hey Guys,

I found out that it was the Atapi/IDE Cable that was BAD!

So I brought a Scsi zip drive and put the Atapi/IDE zip drive in my computer.

i cool now

Thanks for that Information
