:? g'day....
i just purchased cables to connect my iomega zip drive (100mb) to my computer through usb. When i installed the driver it said thatthe scsi id for the usb drivewr was 7 !!! unfortunately the two choices of id for my zip drive asre id no. 5 or id no. 6. does anyone know of another usb scsi driver that will read id 5 or id 6 or if you can change a zip drive so it can be read as having an id number 7 ?
replies greatly appreciated

I got a usb 100mb zip drive hooked up to my mac through the powered usb port. I imagine its not that difficult to connect the SCSI version, make sure the pin # [sometimes 50 or 70, and some others r out there] on your scsi port on your pc matches this #. After that hook the suckers up. If this of no help my bad..i only got the usb version. good luck

"scsi id for the usb drivewr was 7 "

This is OK. You want the host and slave devices to have different ID's. Read more by doing a Google.com search for SCSI FAQ.
