mpc 2500 with s900

just wnated to know if you sampled into the s900 to get that 12 bit crunch then sampled the out into the 2500 would it still have that sound or would it change? thanks

the 2500 samples pretty clean, so yes, if you sampled the output from the s900 into the 2500, it would still have that 12 bit crunch.

why not just sample into the s900 then just use the 2500 to trigger and sequence the s900? that way you dont have to worry about losing that 12bit sound.

the s900 doesn't have much sample time, that's the main reason. plus it's easier to have all of the sounds on the mpc rather than having to load/save on both the mpc and the s900 and make sure they're midi'd up properly each time you need a beat.

what do you think is a good price for a s900 and s950
i can get the s900 for 100 and the s950 for 200 whats the better deal and whats the difference

the s950 was created as an updated version of the s900, so it's got some more functions and the memory is expandable.

the memory for the s950 is a little hard to come by and can be pretty expensive. i've got one of the memory cards for sale on ebay right now for $75. the unit takes 2 of the cards to max out the memory, each card is 750kb and the unit comes standard with 750kb, so that makes a total of 2.25mbs of memory. the s900 only has the standard 750kb.

and the prices you mentioned seem about right.
