I wanna do this.

Hi.

My fingers haven't even touched an MPC.
But I love music, from rap, rock, techno, etc.
I've watched videos and listen to some beats made
and I love it.

And I want to make something to contribute to
my friends or just people in general, something they
can hear or download and enjoy...

Do you need some type of experience in this in anyway
to use an MPC? Yeah, and about money...
They're pretty expensive.

I have no idea where to start in getting an MPC or which one to get...

people will probably disagree, but i started on this over 2 years ago. i knew absolutly nothing about music. but its a simple and powerful program, and really inexpensive. $150 will get you the producers edition which is the most flexible version. plus it comes with lifetime free updates if you order the downloadable version.

Read up on them. Watch some YouTube videos. Download the manual. That's what I did, and I just got my first MPC just a couple weeks ago. Decide if it's what you need. Hands-on control, sampling, and computer-free functionality are its pros.
There's probably nothing an MPC can do that no other instrument or computer program could do.
If you like to bang out beats but don't have a drum set that could factor into your decision making. Or if money is an issue but you are quick with computers go for the MPD 24($200).

don't forget to go into a music store and try the MPC's out. find other people who are learning or have it figured out and make friends. two heads( or more) can be better than one figuring ish out..... two bodies can do the odd jobs and come up with the money faster as well.......
