my 2kxl won't start

here's the deal. Arrived this morning off ebay and worked fine for bout an hour. Turned it off, grabbed some food. Came back and turned it back on and the screen says 'mpc2000xl', then 'Iomega zip 250' and finally 'insert mpc2000xl disk' It won't respond to anything atm. After a while it goes to a screen full of code.
I've tried everything logical, turning off and on with/without disk already inserted, blowing into drive etc
It's got an internal iomega 250 zip drive and I'm using the zip disks that came with it (with some samples on them). Also has 32mb ram.

Any help/advice is much appreciated. I already contacted the seller to let him know the deal, but if possible I want to keep it and not go through the hassle of finding another.

yeah the guy's sending me a zip disk with the OS on to reinstall. MAAAAAAD annoying when I had all my wax picked out and ready and was just getting down on it. I've messed around a bit on friends mp's before, but it so easy to pick up and the workflow is so nice.
