sample dump? from 1000 to 2000xl

My friend has a 1000, I have a 2000xl. can I use the sample dump feature to get around the incompatability issues. I know I should be able to transfer the sounds with no problem, but what about midi? Anyone tried this? Any work-arounds? Any help is appreciated. Thenx. one.

If you are taliking about MIDI Sequence files ( Seq files ) you can use them back and froth I think. I know for a fact you can go 2000-1000 but you may also be able to go 1000-2000. Save as either .mid or sequence files.

I knew I could transfer the sounds, as they are wav. As far as work around, what I meant was, is it possible to keep your sequences and assignments and transfer them as midi information. I don't know much about the 1000 so I thought there was some incompatability issues. I don't usually bother with midi so I sound like a noob when speaking about it. sorry for the mix-up, but thanx for the help. one

Sample dump is to send samples, one by one, down a MIDI cable. This is waaaay slower than putting your sample in an envelope, sending it to kuala lumpur, processing it through a pinhole, then transporting it on the back to you via message in a bottle over land. In other words, life's too short.

As for programs, you can go from the 2k to 1k, but I don't know if the other way works - I'd like to know if you get it working.

Save sequences as .mid files (type 1), both ways.

yep, u cant load mpc1000 pgm's in the 2000xl, but it does work the other way around i think,, midi sample dump, is sooo slow, worse than 56k. maybe it might be quicker to just sample from the analogue outs.
