COOL EDIT

I have been noticing that a lot of mpc users refer to cool edit and i was wondering if it is just for cleaning up samples and where could i get a copy of it cause i can't seem to locate it on the net. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

its no longer called cool edit its called adobe audition now check it out but i got recycle wwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy better

I use it, cuz it's simple and the quality is good too. I even do my mastering in oit, but for that I use plug-ins, though.

U can't find it, cuz it doesn't exist anymore. It was bought by Adobe. The new name is "Audition", i think.

As everyone above has stated it is now called Adobe Audition. From what I can tell Adobe has made no additions or changes to this first release.

It is quite a different program than Recycle. They are meant for 2 completely different things. I won't go on to describe the ins and outs of each, you can check their respective websites for that, but the basics are:

Adobe Audition (formerly CoolEdit) - Multitracking and offers advanced audio mixing, editing, and effects processing capabilities.

Recycle: lets you do with sampled loops what you can do with beats programmed from individual drum sounds – like alter the tempo, or replace sounds and process them individually. ReCycle turns concrete-rigid loops into musical modeling clay, allowing you, the loopist, to do pretty much what you desire.

As you can see from these brief descriptions, 2 totally different programs for 2 totally different needs.

To decide which software application you need (may not even be one of these), ask yourself what you'd like the software to do.

I use Cool Edit as my Studio sort of. I make a beat with the MPC, open up Cool Edit (almost endless tracks) record the beat from the MPC on a track (or more if need be) Then lay my bassline, keys, guitar, vocals or whatever on seperate tracks mix it all down to my desired format. (Wav, MP3 and more) and Whoop there it is!!!

just got the Adobe Audition. I noticed when I try to open a .snd file all i get is static noise. is it because i need plug-ins..if so which will do...
