samples on jj os

when i playback some kick samples, especially 808 or other big bottom drums, there is a loud pop at the beginning of the sample. When i trim the sample it helps but i was wondering what the deal was. When i was working with the akai os it didn't do that. Does someone else have this issue. I'm working with the jj os 3.05

Try the JJ forum - they'll prob have a better kernoledge

akai's os adds a tiny default attack to its samples. the jj os does not.

zoom in on the start and make sure it crossfades at the 0.
in pad mode, add an attack of 1 or 2
this should solve your problem.

a boom sampled from an actual 808 will have the click.. its part of the soundgen. i use a lp filter envelope to get rid of it.

i have this loud pop at the beginning of every sample i recorded in wavelab
and copied over usb. its the same peak on every sample . i think there was another thread with this problem. it sucks to remove this over and over again

Could be that you´re not saving it as a "clean" wav-file. Some audio editors adds a program specific string of data in the begining of the file when your saving. Usually you have the option to choose a mode of saving that generates a plain wav-file without the added data. Check your software manual or preferences.

hmmm i tried again and now its clean from cf card
but samples from burned dvd allready have this peak.
and they were saved with the same programm ?

yeah i've heard of people having this problem with wavelab saving extra stuff in the wav resulting in a click.

no doubt. what you and ryssen are referring to is known as meta-data (if my memory serves me correctly).
