i'll start a beat recording melodies from my sound module into 2500 then make them samples. after that i'll lay the beat down and for some reason one of the samples will mute like halfway through the sample then play again then mute as i loop the beat. i've tried both the akai 1.22 os and the jj os 3.06 and this happens. and i'm just in the sequence mode. does anyone have this problem or does it sound like a hardware problem.

and to explain a little more my sampled melodies are on one program and my drums, hh's, etc. are on another program and when i start tapping on the pads of the drums thats when the sample will cut off. this problem will happen every 2 or 3 beats.

I don't think you've provided enough information for me check all posibilities I can think of but the first thing which pops into my head is have you exhausted the MPC's polyphony, the MPC can play 32 voice simultainiously & if you are trying to play 33 one will not play. Saying that I've never done it myself so I don't know whether the 33rd voice is the one which won't play or whether one of the already playing notes will be cut for the 33rd.

To behonest I doubt that's it but I just thought I through the idea in there just incase, I hope it's not he MPC with the problem.

maybe this is the metronome, that seems to leak (and mute) the samples when they are played back at maybe 10 voices (on my machine)
it happens especially when i play longer notes like basslines, chords...
it also happened when i only use drum sounds, but occurs much later ( with more polyphony )

it seemed that the jj os helped me a bit with this problem, but its still there...
i have to send my 2500 back to akai for this reason

Hey

It might be that you need to hit mode, then program, then go from mono to poly or disable the mute or something like that.

im not near my 2500 at the moment.

This is possible (I think it's on the params page), you could also check mute groups.

the 32 voices are only 16 stereo sounds, so it wont take long to run out of polyphony. it happens to me alot with my 1000 which has the same engine.

It might be that you need to hit mode, then program, then go from mono to poly or disable the mute or something like tha

this helps to free some voices, but for some sounds you might want the overlapping feature that poly provides.

What OS's are you guyz using?

I'm on 1.21 and all is fine. No cut outs or sh*t like that. Have you guys checked you're samples, one shot, etc. Check if sounds are muted or not. What about the Qlink sliders - turn them off. You need to check you're shi*t.

Could even be certain .wav samples or pgm formats from other sample companies.

I didnt quite get what you was saying but I can tell you this:

If you lay down a song, you must remember that EVERY sample sequence, drum sequence and that has to be on the same track number.

For example: if you make like beat which has 3 sequences combined, these 3 sequences must have same things on same track numbers. Like first track in all of these sequences is the sample sequence. second drums, third bass etc.. Hope you got it.
