I get people who e-mail me questions thinking I'm selling a broken unit...or there must be something wrong with it if I'm selling it already... which is not the case...when I say MINT, I mean mint...my feedback should support that, but people are so damn scared of ebay that they fail to realize that I've been on there since 1998 and have nobody ever saying that my items are less than what I've described them to be.

Truth is that I'd like to use the money on other equipment and the 500 is redundant in my current set-up.

I understand....well I hope it sells. :D

Yeah hope you do sell it. Contra seems intrested. The first thing I looked at was how long you been on Ebay. The price is hella nice though. If you lived out this way,and this post was a couple weeks ago,....lol.If I hit the Powerball this Wednesday ( 240+ million). If this...if that...Good luck indeed.

well the 500 is a really nice machine but i must say that the OS is really poor, it really needs some improvement, no seq selct with pads, no "recycle" mode, i was about to sell it for a 1000, but i must say i'll wait a bit, i really love the fact that is works on battery!!! i asked akai if they at least planed to include the seq/pad select function and all i got as an answer was this:
I can pass this on to our engineering dept. That is for them to decide. I
cannot comment on update plans.

an MPC that reminds me a little of the ASR and SP but a great deal smaller and incredibly deeper than the pair of them.

This is a cool MPC.

The pads dissappointed me a little.

Yeah I'm loving mines. Think its takes a while to navigate round the menu's and the placement of the function buttons etc. I'm whizzing my way round it now and the taking it everywhere. My 4k is becoming fast obsolete because im using the 1/2k so much.

Yoshimi, since you had both units, hod do the pads on the MPC500 compare to the MPC1000? Are they the same? (other than there being only 12 of them)

I can't compare the 500 pads to the 1000 but I can compare them to the 2500. It takes a bit more force on the 500 pads than the 2500.
They feel solid and not cheap though. They don't double trigger or miss trigger. The 2500 pads are the Lexus pads and the 500 are more like a Civic. They work well but won't win any comfort or style prizes.
