!!! Midi CCs from external source Record as Qlink Data?

ie - you turn a knob/move a dial on your midi keyboard while recording on your mpc, and the midi data is recorded as qlink data - like a filtersweep or tunesweep.

we would love to see this soooo much.
did the 2000xl have this feature?

the whole multitimbral thing would limit it to the external ccs controlling only 1 program at a time, but that's no problem for me, it's just the idea of being able to do it. and record it.

especially with the sensors available and the abillity to build your own midi device....appealing to my idea of using an infrared sensor and your hand to control sht...or a glove w/ bend sensors. fking HUMIDITY sensor (i dunno, breath on it?) so much...

i want to stick some tiny piezo sensor on a glove, and have some finger tapping fun. the cc thing is kinda essential too, i think jj should and will do it.

I'm quite suprised that Akai didn't code a full Midi Sysex implementation into the new MPCs. Most digital hardware sampler/synths can be fully controlled this way, assuming you can wrap your brain around the often confusing sysex implementation charts.

Personally, I'd rather see Q-Links sending midi cc#.

i guess they were going for the whole studio in a box idea, just my guess.

midi ccs in grid. go to qlink edit in grid, and if your pgm is set to MIDI you can scroll to the according cc info.

What do you mean? I don't seem to have a QLink Edit in the Grid screen, and the normal QLink Edit (Pad1) doesn't have a midi mode. Maybe it's not implemented in the 2500 yet.

Still nice to know its there (or coming). Sorry for derailing the thread a bit. With regard to the original topic, it would have to implemented cleverly, like you say, only the currently selected track would be affected. Fun for people with Kaoss Pads, ribbon controller etc.

my mistake, it should be under CONTROL when you turn your track to midi and go to what is now PIANO ROLL. i believe F2 will take you to the CONTROL screen, which is a midi track's version of qlink edit.

It seems the 2500 is different the the current 1000. I thought v5 would bring it up to date, but the 'Control' section is missing. Thanks for pointing that out though.
