disk read error problem, help please

wassup people

I was having problems with my zips not saving samples...so i bought an internal card reader...i finally installed and everything worked fine...i was sampling again!!!! then last night i tried to save this hot sample and the flash card reader is saying disk read error....can anyone help me understand why this is happening?

I had error problems when I used to name my samples too long or if they began with the same name like when you turn zone chops into a program, as in chop1 chop 2 chop 3, 4,-16 and then tried to open them in a pc. the pc would overwrite all the chops sounds and turn them into chop 1 or just screw the files up with adding data or error file name extenstions. pc 's format and mpc formatted media don't get along too well. its like the suns and the lakers... same division, no love I don't know if this is similar to your situation. to help them work with each other I alway give files unique names and I back my stuff up . I have a flash card that I save only snd/mpc type file and will never use in my computer then I save a second time on another card as wav to use with my computer. if those wav files are ruin I still have the card with snd/mpc type file as a back up. its 2007 ,in the digital world if it dont exsist twice it just doesn't exsit at all. so please just back stuff up to prevent heart ache, I use to be one of those losers, I lost my entire summer bcuz of the famous zip drive click of death and recently brought a mcd reader. with the speed of a mcd reader this is just no excuse not to back up

yea try that I guess and format your cards
from what I hear the only limitation with the old OS is that you need to make partitions when you save your work. I have the new os myself and can not make partations with it. I wonder if I wanted to buy a 9 or 4 gig scsi harddrive would I have to use the old OS for use of the partition feature for the huge harddrive.
