i have had my mpc for about a month and half and everything is coming along but i want my drums to bang harder are there any tips i can use to make them bang harder using the mpc 1000 or anything will help thanks guys

Compressers and sound envelopes... Layer techniques maybe?

try layering your drums.... for example, get one kick and get another lower or thicker kick under it

dynamics processes and proper eq. saturation.

i realize a lot here are approaching most questions as if the asker was limited to the mpc as the only tool... but i suggest using other gear at the same time, like a mixer with eq and/or outboard compressor-limiter-gate. what i personally find ideal is a computer and some free plugins such as the 'digital fish phones' dynamics plugins.

What do you mean by "banging"? Different people might mean different things. In any case, choose your samples carefully and learn how to listen to your own material critically. It helps to think like a drummer and to make thoughtful decisions on where the kick, snare and hats go.

try useing the slider or evan 16 levels you can getdeeper bass sounding kicks, also layer them as well i find works

let your input meter clip but make sure it doesnt sound like its clippin

one thing you could try to do is use multiple kicks and snares at the same time. If you mix it down good, that can get your drums to hit harder. Or you can mix everything down to your drums and then turn up the MAIN volume of the track. that could also make your drums jump!

wow so hardly anyone here does anything besides a) choose samples, b) layer two or more samples to get a 'produced' sound? seems less like a craft by the day if you hang around this place... seriously, a good engineer will be able to fatten your drums, but theres not much you can do about it without resorting to techniques outside the box as it were haha. too bad no one here seems to value production techniques past the lego method...
