Diggin in Michigan?????

i drive around southern michigan alot. i was wondering if any of yall know of any good spots in the cities of ann arbor, flint, lansing, or battle creek? or anywhere in the vicinity of those cities? fuc it, let me know of any spots in the detroit or pontiac area that i might not know about either.

how close are you to downriver (dearborn, etc.) i live there and know a ton of spots

im in southfield so its not far at all. where are the spots are in dearborn?

there used to be 3 spots in dearborn, 2 closed so theres one left. Its called Dearborn Music and its on Michigan Ave. Some of the prices are steep but they got a good selection.

They will give you money if you bring in old records you dont want that they need, they told me they needed jazz, so check it out if you get a chance

All the other spots are my secrets, and there are a few stores off gratiot 11/12 mile area so drive around. This should get you started.

all kinds of good ish...tapes, CD's, LPs from every genre...diggers paradise..
little unknown vault can be found in the basement of the Ann Arbor Library...most LP's are like a buck heheheh...but pickins can be slim at times...much of it is donated ish, sometimes you can find soemthing rare or just something to fit your crave for that day...just to toss my man a plug (because I designed his first logo) Puffer Red's in Ypsilanti..haven't been in there in a minute...mostly CD's but he's got the hellie gear and kicks...after you've run around all day go hit up Zingerman's on Detroit st, Downtown Ann Arbor for a Deli sandwich...pricey but good...get the ole' style pickle not that new bs everyone eats and a spicy ginger beer (soda)...yea, life is good when you find the time to just chill...other than that its a Bi*** then you eat pie.

props on all these, i knew a few and theres some i just found out about, head to downriver, Lincoln Park, Southgate, Taylor and they are littered with Value Worlds and second hand stores, they got TONS of records in those

Flat Black & Circular (FBC) in E. Lansing is alright. It's on Grand River right on MSU's campus. Sometimes you can find some gems in their. Also, next to their counter, they gotta stack of about 300 or so records that are free. There's also a antique mall somewhere on Cedar St in Lansing that's got some good finds.

this is just a thought....I use to hate when my wife asked me to go out with her to garage sells in the summer time....till one day I went and this dude was selling old albums for 25 cents...nobody wanted that ish lol...I kept pickin' through it becuase I was bored lol...finally the guy comes over and says, "take as many as you want and let me have $3" I did what I was supposed to do at that point...recorded analogue is recorded analogue lol I grabbed a stack...didn't want be too greedy...but ya know I'm not a serious crate digger...I just don't have anywhere to put it....mp3's are great but...nothing is like an old album with a few scratches...especially when you want a dirty sound...almost got a woody just thinkin bout it

Just Went To Jellybeans on Dort in flint for the first time. none of their records are priced they price them at the desk. i found that it took more time to price the records than it did diggin for them then my heart was broke when i was told that one record was 15 and another was like 35 i forget what the other one was but one was called grim reaper it looked like it might have some cool dark sounds on it or somethin. now to listen to the ones i just got and hope that the sounds are as good as the covers.

If it costs more than a dollar, I don't want it. If I need bagpipes, I'll buy a record with bagpipes on the cover. Sample a hit and autochromatic it. A note from a bagpipe ain't any different from a 25 cent record, and a $35.00 record. For $20.00, if I can't walk out the store with at least half a crate of wax, I won't even look around and get myself excited. Ohh, no dollar/bargain bin section??? I'll leave! I MAY spend $2.. maybe even $3 if I find a record that I know costs a lot more everywhere else. I did that about a month ago for a Sun-Ra record. Payed $2.00,and I remember seeing it at other places for $14 and more.
