Hello everyone.

Could anyone help me i wonder?

I have an akai s950 but i have canabalised the disk drive for my emax.

also i think the power supply is blown.

So dose anyone know where i can get a power supply from or would go about
fixing the old one.

Also where is a good place to get floppy drives from?

Thankyou very much from england!

get a used / broken S1000 near your place. you can use the floppy rive from it and the power supply to your s950.

Power supplies are the same for S1000 and 950? I guess for the 900 as well then?

yes well.

To solve the problem i have bought another s900.

But to be honest i wud like to know weather its is worth getting the power supply repaired at a repair center?

I wonder how much this would cost. or maybe if their is an alternative
power supply that i could use instead of the akai 1

I'm not a handy man by any stretch of the imagination, but I had something similar happen in my 950.

What the problem turned out to be was a loose connector inside the machine. It was on the upper portion of the 950, towards the back. My machine was actually powering up, but not going any further. I made sure all the plugs were connected properly and everything has been good since,

Good luck mang!

keep the 900 as is, and repair the 950 power supply. Most likely, you wont have to replace the whole board. your local shop should be able to sort it out.
