Play Mode - Continues Loop

Hi, this is prob a done and dusted problem but I can't seem to find the solution(prob typing wrong key words in search page)

Ok, in Play Mode there is only One Shot and Note On mode. How do you make it that a pad stays triggered so a sample becomes a continues loop?

i've only had the mpc1000 for a month..

You have to define a loop (trim mode), select "note on" and press the pad for as long the loop shall play. No loop possible in "one shot" mode

Man that's some bullSh%t. I mean there are alot cheaper samplers that do what I want the mpc1000 to do. There has to be a work around. This really limits my live performance ideas.(no wait, I guess I can do the same thing with track mute or is it pad mute? can I?)

But then another problem occurs. I don't have access to my one shot samples in Track Mute Mode. I want to play live over a loop, but I don't want the sequencer running.

Sequencer would have to be running for a loop to continue cycling i'm afraid

try a cheaper sampler/looper. I suggest you use the akai s20 for that kind of live play. You can get one used for less than 100 bucks

Do u guys thinks this can be made available with a software update. U think JJ can throw me a bone?

"Can´t be done in a proper manner on the MPC 1000.
What you can do (but it´s not very practical, controlable or smooth) is this:

Take a looped sample and assign it to a pad.
Set the layer it´s on to "note on" mode.
Press and hold the pad.
Press "Track mute" while you hold the pad.
You can now let go of the pad and the loop keeps playing.

If you wish you can leave the "Track mute" window and do the same thing with another sample.
Your samples keep playing until you press the pad assigned to the sample.

I don´t recommend this for serious live sequencing though."
