does anyone know any programs that work for the akai mpc 500 on a pc.

works fine with the 500.
make sure to export when moving the file to your mpc so as to move the samples with the program.

just pushes all samples further down since the 500 only has 12 pads.

I cant open the file on my pc... do you have a clue how this could happen? I downloaded the file a while ago to from a different site, but had the same problem then..

maybe i'm wrong about that it could be just mac.
but then i found this page, seems to have 3 different programs that do the same thing as mpc187.

Pad 187 is for OS X which only runs on Macs.
There are some PC software solutions on this page:

I can't vouch for the quality of these PC programs since i use Pad 187. At this point there are no MPC500-specific apps so you just have to keep in mind that the first 4 pads of bank B on the MPC500 are the last 4 on the MPC1000 etc. So you will have to mentally shift how the 12 pads of the MPC500 map sequentially against the 16 pads of the MPC1000.

I personally find BlueBox is great for both my 500 and 1000. My colleague at Hollow Sun is having a go with PAD 187 although I haven't heard how he got on with it. He's a bit "old skool" LOL
