not a problem. You still have 4 banks of pads which gives me more sounds than I use in one program.

The only problem is that you can't import a program of MPC 1000 which has 16 pads....

In reality I don't think you will make full use of 16 pdas anyway, so...

12 pads are fine!!! :D

12 pads are actually better- only reason why I want to replace 1k.
Music on this planet has mostly 12 tones, the idiotic 16 makes it next to impossible to use pads for melodies- each bank having different mapping.
There are some instruments that feel much better with the pads but the sensless mapping drives me nuts.

actually that is awesome. i never thought of that. i don't use 16 levels too much on my 2000XL, probably because of that. I'm just glad they didn't go with 9 pads....

12 Pads are cool. I dont use too many pads any way. I got it for my son and he loves it. The 500 is dope. :wink:
