audio changing channels?

howdy y'all,

got 4.35 running + it rules. one thing is that every once in a while i notice strange things going on with stereo samples -- like sometimes it sounds like a sample comes out of only the left or right channel?

this has happened when i've sliced up a stereo sample, put the slices on a program, lay down a basic loop, and start putting drums/whatever over the top. it doesn't happen often, it just very occasionally sounds like one of the chopped samples plays mono panned either L or R.

am i just imagining things, or has anyone else heard this?

nah i have this happen too every now and then.
i can tell it's tied to some function, but i'm confused as to what.
i feel like it only happens when i'm doing a certain thing but i can't pinpoint it.

luckily, this never happens when i'm tracking, which is the only time it'd really cause any serious problem. otherwise it doesn't bother me that much, but it would be nice to see it taken care of some time in the future.

I had this happen last night too - I assigned a sample to come out of output 2 and noticed it dropping out (dissappering) intermittantly - bit of a pain in the arse. Wouldn't be too good in a live performance - But like Ant says - as long as it doesn't happen while tracking it wouldn't bother me too much.

it happened to me during playback and tracking. i sent a bug report to JJ about that.

It's definitely NOT your imagination. I've had this happen to me several times. I've just never really complainted about it. However, it is VERY annoying and I would hate it to happen while I'm recording into a DAW. I've read many threads on this forum regarding other people who experienced this problem as well, so it's definitely a "BUG" that should be addressed. It's not that serious (not a show stopper) but it would be nice if this is fixed. It a very difficult problem to trace since it doesn't occur that often and it extremely difficult to duplicate so I can imagine how difficult it would be to debug and test this issue.

Oh well, at least the sequencer timing is FINALLY rock solid!!! Back in 04-05 when I had my old blue MPC1k with the now older AKAI OS (I think 1.05, 1.07 or something) there were sequencer timing glitches and samples skipping. I'm glad that was fixed!!!!!

so i guess this is just a bug then. ( i filed a report too, but it's sort of a unreproducible bug, so who knows how they can track it down). i've noticed it happening a lot more often in the past few days -- working last night it seemed to pan samples a whole bunch of times in the course of four hours. guess i'll just keep working around it for now!

sure it is hard to reproduce but it happens to me at least one time when i make a beat and i'm pretty sure it happens on the mpc2500 too.
