MPC with Adat

Hello there i am new to the site and was just wondering if someone cold help me out wih something?

i have recentley bought a mixing desk for equing my beats throo and i am thinking of purchasing an old adat multitrack recorder for recording my beats but i am not sure if they are compatible with my mpc as i dont think they have midi, but they do have smpte, will this work with my mpc 2000xl
can anyone help me out?

SMPTE is an option on the XL and would work well for you. If you had a "studio" model and came with 8-outs, you probably have it. To know for sure, you have to check your board to see if the chip is installed (or just try syncing it up). I found one on ebay in the past, but they are rare. It's usually easier to find another MPC with the option installed.

Altho it's a german company, you might be interested - Thomann still have the IB-M20T SMPTE sync board. It ain't cheap tho...

I'd say have a look around - some times they are sold separately in used condition.

DJ Shadow used an ADAT with his mpc, if memory serves me...
