b.p.m.... ????

Hello, i have one questions......
If a record a sample, there is a solutions to know the bpm of this sample??
Because if i see in the B.P.M match screen i see for example: current tempo: 11.4 (in reality are 90)

i don't understand what is this,...sorry i hope someone can help my

1st, what kind of sample is it? Is it a loop or is it a one hit drum sample? If it is a loop then 1st make sure you have the start and end points set so that it loops perfectly the way you want it to sound.

2) assign that sample to a program in the KG mix page then go to the main screen. Hit the pad that you assigned the sample to and while the sample is playing hit the tap tempo button untill the sample is finished playing (this will give you a rough estimate of the BPM of the sample)

3) go back to the Sample Trim page and go to the "End" paramater and turn it to "BEAT". By default it will say 120 (the number to the right of the quater note symbol), Adjust that to whatever it said in the Main page when you used the tap tempo button to get the rough estimate.

4) the number to the left of the quater note symbol will say something like 4.50 just for example. But you know that your Sample is EXACTLY 4 BEATS, because you hear it loop perfectly the way you want and you've counted the beats, so that means you have to micro adjust the BEAT parameter untill the number to the left of the quater note symbol says 4.00 and that Number that you end up with to the right of the quater note symbol will be your correct BPM.


The BPM match screen used to confuse me also. You are right that it displays the "wrong" BPM of the sample, which I used to assume would be carried over from the Sample Trim page where I already set the correct BPM. What you have to do is.... In the "Beat parameter" on the BPM match page you have to enter in the amount of Beats that are in the sample and then you will see the "Current Tempo" BPM change to the same BPM that you figured out earlier, it will change from 11.4 to 90 as in your example.

Yes, after you've found the correct "Current Tempo" of the sample all you have to do is put in the "New Tempo" that you want.

But, make sure you have the correct amount of "Beats" entered also!!!! If your sample is 8 beats long you must put in 8. And also make sure that you have the "Selection" paramater set correctly to either Trim or Loop depending on which screen you used to Trim your sample.

AND.... Make sure you have Discarded all the data that is outside of your Start and End points before you process the BPM match.

but i have choose a bad loop (140bmp) and to go at 90 bmp lose much quality, but the important thing is that i have learned this great skill...

only one thing,...if i have a sample and this sample is great, i don't need to change the bpm,...i must find his tempo and write is in the beat space,...or is not important if the sample works??
