cheapest MPCs?

in general. i know that once in a while you can find super deals, but what are the low prices on mpcs these days?

i've seen 500s for $500 on ebay and audiolines.com
can you get 2000XLs for $600??

anyway i think i want to cop a 500 but if 1000's are cheaper maybe get that...

but this thread could serve as a guide for people buying mpcs, as in how much they should/could spend...

I bought a 1000 for $450.00 and have seen a lot O.G. 2k's for $300 - $350 which I was pretty amazed at.

I saw them on Ebay about a month ago. Some of the 2k's had a dim backlight or the usual lines accross the LCD but that's only about $100 - $150 to fix, which still makes them a pretty damn good bargain. It looks like prices went up again, but I'm sure it's people trying to get more money out of them 'cause of income taxes. Just keep an eye out, you'll find a good bargain.

got my 2K for $600 with 30 DVDs full of samples, drums, ect...

but now im looking to get a new or used 2500 or 2xl with zip or Card reader.

deals are possible. i picked up a 2000 once for 300, the screen was going, and i had to replace the floppy drive, but it totally worked, and i made a bunch of killer beats on it, cause i had it in my living room with my dj rig...

what is a real good print on a 2500? i'm gonna have to cop one now that i've started to see its power

It's almost like record digging, you will come across a good bargain at one point. Picked 2K "Klassic" up a few years ago on Ebay for 500. The description said that the floppy drive couldn't read any disks. When I got it I put in a floppy and it fired up. No problems for a good 3 years

If you're willing to try the 1000 route I'd go to your local guitar center and ask them if they have any blue 1000's cause you can probably get em pretty cheap. I went to ask how much the trade in value was because I don't really use mine anymore and they told me not too much cuz they still had brand new blue ones in stock for like 350.

2000 are the cheapest imo. I got mine for 350.

2k and 2kxl ive seen as cheap as $400. usually $500-$800 though

how are you guys finding the 2kXLs so cheap?! I've done mad lookin online and they're tryin to pull some 1700 bullshit. This seems to be the machine for me but where can I get one NEW CHEAP

Those are used prices. Either buy a used one or dish out the money for a new one.

you can find 2000s the cheapest..

XLs and 1000s are extremely popular and most people go for those, so they tend to be more expensive than the 2000s..

EDIT: damn i just realized how old this thread is..

I just bought a 3ooo for $1ooo, and all that was wrong with it was that the backlight was going dim and one of the buttons was missing. That's basically $5o max to fix for one helluva machine.
