mpc1000 do everything the 2500 can with the JJ os ?

I am going for the mpc1000 purely for size as I have limited workspace - getting the 2500 means shifting desktops & computers around ( Im a 3d graphic designer ) so price isn't an issue - all I want to know is can the 1000 do everything the 2500 can do ? im not worried about hardware differences - as I only use 2 outputs anyway - just wanna know it can do the patch phrase stuff etc

Any feedback would be cool

with the JJ OS for aout 30 bucks you can do everything the 2500 with an akai os can.
