Recording the MIDI-KEyboard sounds

Hi guys i need help,
i use jjs os and i want to record the sounds of my midikeyboard. I heard its possible to sample direct from the midikeyboard.

MY MPC in & out go into my soundcard. My midikeyboard out in my mpc in. now i play sounds in cubase i try to record them with the mpc (live) - i choose Type: MIDI - Pgm - OFF and midi 1a..them i make in cuabse a midichannel (channel1) . Where is my mistake ?

from your description it is not very clear how you have everything wired up. which could mean you are not making the distinction in your own mind between AUDIO and MIDI and are assuming erroneously that certain information is being passed between the various devices.

MIDI and AUDIO are totally different types of data. you need to make sure everything is wired up correctly for both data flows. the MIDI data needs to flow from your controller into the MPC and then from the MPC into the computer. likewise, the AUDIO follows it's own pathway.

if i understand you correctly, you desire to use the controller to trigger the sounds inside Cubase, then have that sound go into the MPC for sampling purposes? this would require that both the MIDI and AUDIO pathways are setup correctly....

yeah, thats how i everything wired up. My midicontroller flow from my mpc, and from the MPC into the computer. i dont know whats wrong...maybe some settings (sync or in cubase) ??

so, you have the audio inside the computer mapped from Cubase to the line OUT attached to the REC IN on the MPC? if so, is the REC GAIN knob turned to some value above 0?

if the MIDI controller part of your keyboard triggers the sound in Cubase, then you need to connect Cubase to your MPC.... if Cubase is triggering sounds in the sound module part of your keyboard, then you need to connect the sound OUT of the keyboard to your MPC....
