how about q-link sliders being able to control some fx parameters?

or the sliders being able to be able to control more than one thing (like filters on two seperate pads)?

or, just a bit of an odd one, but its a nice easy bit of code to add. how about audio frequency amplitude modulation as an effect? its an effect i really love using on my modular.

loving 4.37 by the way.

i would still like the idea of some sort of ''track explode''... would this be possible? I mean if audio track is possible there should be a way to select the tracks you want to ''explode'' and make a mixdown in a .wav format..

very handy if you don't have a 6 input soundcard and if you simply want to move your shit too the computer

Chop a sample (especially via direct record) by bars/beats.

For samples that are imported with exact lengths, a certain amount of calcuation can achieve this. For instance, a 12-bar loop imported can be broken down into 1/4 note sections with a 48-sectioned slice.

But for samples of varying length, such as a 12.257 bar sample or direct record performance (vocally or sampling a synth live without MIDI), there is no way to capture the slight timing nuisances. Any trimming of the sample, unless it is from the start, will most likely shift the performance forward or backward, and would require a tedious process. Since many keyboards have digital outs and thus AD conversion would not be an issue, this would make one less thing to push a user back to a DAW workflow.

one more suggestion... the ability to switch the samples between traditional 'one shot' (which would play the sample all the way through) and a mode where the amount of the sample played is determined by the note duration would be useful...

unless its already there and i haven't noticed it!

What i would raelly love to see happen (might take a whole new version of the MPC to do this.....) is for you to be able to render your sequences as audio files.

for example - you chop up a sample like crazy for an 8 bar loop... and you want to turn that 8bar loop into one 8bar .wav file. (easily done on protools or any other computer program)

Instead of having to record the sequence in real time into your computer - you can just RENDER it as a .wav file and import that **** thru USB.

It would make dumping a beat or tracking a beat so much easier. And my life a lot easier too.

Additional Analog Sequencing Style

In Grid mode you'd select a pad that would be affected then use a function key to bring you to a sixteen step grid (as default) for the measure.

Now by pressing any of the sixteen PADs, you'd jump to that step.

default controls..
-Q1 slider would set pitch
-Q2 slider would set velocity - if the fader was all the way down, the step would be turned off automatically. If you moved the fader up to set velocity for the step, it would turn on.

Now if you were working on a midi track with data, the pitch slider would send out a midi note number based on where it was set and the velocity would work the same way...slider all the way down step is off, raise it to set the velocity.

you could tie this into all sorts of settings where you have effects send levels/pan controls/ etc. varying on different steps for some really interesting beats.

The key to easy screen reference is to show a vertical bar graph setting so you can reference where each of the pads is set in relation to each other. Something like this.

The Roland R-70 drum machine has this feature and it is fantastic.

I'd also like to see a function key setting tied into the loop length of the measure which you could hold and then press one of the 16 pads to set the measure length on the fly against 16th notes to really change up your grooves and feel on the fly.

Would be great also if CDR-RW could render CD audio or even save anything besides just samples.....the ability for the cdr to record from cd and load wav files is cool...Again, the ability to Render your project/ptoduction/seq song from master mode to audio CD would be great.

More effects....ie: FX3/FX4 would be hott!
Eq per audio track57-64 would be nice

Looking forward to future OSs

I request Alpha's chop shop. 8)

In the 4000 forum, it was my 1st post.

Please y'all, check it out, and let me know if that shouldn't be a new platform feature, along with independent track lengths.

Do it up JJ. :D

Peace.
