Layering in the 60 without getting a Phasing/Flange effect?

How do you layer in the 60 without getting a Phasing/Flange effect?

Are you trying to layer two copies of the same sound? That's gonna happen if you don't edit one of them in some way.

Arse! Yeah its the same loop. The other half of Diggers For Life manages to do it on a 2KXL without seemingly having to edit

Why would you want to layer the exact same loop over itself?

The best way to do it is in step edit. Just make sure both are on the exact same point, with the same swing and it will be as good as it's ever going to get.

I could understand using the same two loops if one was filtered/panned differently. When I track to my daw I usually have two channels of the same thing, with different eq/compression/volume on them. That may be the way to go if the mp is still phasing.

It is not possible in every mpc I've tried. Simply because mpc's don't have sample accurate sequencers (like most software sequencers), they are hardware midi sequencers so two notes never play at the exact same point.

Layering aint that simple homie. Playing two of the exact same thing doesnt fatten the sound, it just causes aliasing and phasing.

Say you wanted to layer up a kick. So maybe you take two of the same kick samples (i normally do different samples personally) and pitch down one of them, and throw a little lo pass filter on it, then probably drop the volume on the filtered sample. This will not only get rid of your aliasing but will fatten up that sound for you a bit.

BTW i dont know if all this is possible on the 60.
