Polyphony and cut off notes

Hi!

As I was recording a drumbeat with 1/16 hihats I was very surprised that when I added a ride cymbal to the beat it got cut off and sometimes not even sounded at all! It sounded as if the polyphony was maxed. Yet, I was only using a total of 4 sounds!

How can this be? Surely the MPC must be able to play more than 4 sounds at the same time? Or? =S

you're ride pad may be set to mute the hat, like you would set an OH. look on page 64 of manual

Happy mistake, it was a Group Mute. This is how you simulate a real drum kit.
