After a long fight about me spending too much time making music, spending money on musical items and accessories i came home to a box with my name on it to my surprise my girl had bought me this card reader for my classic

http://home.tiscali.nl/%7Esmeyer/mpc/

i got the midicase carder faq and this site bookmarked so it was nothing for her to glance for something that i might need. ive opened it its great only thing wrong is the fact that its not gonna fit in my classic. unless someone can solder? the XL has the connection for the internal zip thats how it connects from the board to the card reader my classic just has the floppy connector.

So i broke it down to her with eyeshadow and mascara there both makeup they both go on the eyes there just two different types. she understands!!!

is there anyway to make this work or should i just sell the card reader to someone on here? she wants to refund the money and buy the right one but the pcd-40 is hard to find. and im shit outta ideas....help anyone?

It doesnt need to be the PCD-47, also PCD-15, PCD-17, PCD-19, PCD-25 or anything tagged with dpai-scs-pc series.

For a classic you have 2 options: Both options involve a SCSI card reader IDE ones like the one most people use in the 2kxl wil just not work since your classic has no IDE connector on the mainboard.

1. External: Fix the card reader in an external SCSI casing and connect it to your classic like you would do with a zip drive.

2. Internal: Solder your own internal scsi connector to the 2k classic motherboard and connect the cardreader like that.
