Is your synth multi timbral?

If so, make sure your different programs on synth have different midi channel numbers and also make sure that the number is the same as the mpc midi track number. They need to match.

Once you record midi on an mpc and are satified with it, don't change that mpc midi trak device channel and don't change the synths midi channel for that recorded instrument.

You need to move to a different midi track and start there with the next midi instrument.

ie:

synth piano trk = midi 1, mpc seq 1 midi trk 1 device 1
synth bass trk = midi 2, mpc seq 1 midi trk 2 device 2

etc...

If your synth is NOT mulitimbral, you can only choose 1 midi track anyway.

Assed out.

Are you using a mpc 2kxl?

BOTH of you cats should specify what gear you are using.
We are not mind readers here ya dig, lol.

in the triton, each trak needs a different midi channel number.

Match that with the mpc midi track device number.

triton 1-16 tracks = mpc midi track device 1-16.

nah phene thats a different problem, sound like each time you load a new program you overwriting your previous one. yes, no, mabye? if thats the case learn how to assign the programs you wanna use( only 4out of like 24 you can use at a time for a given SEQ, I think)... hit shift 6 , then hit either f1,f2, f3, f4 to pick which one of the 4 programs(drum1 drum 2 drum 3 drum 4 ). then scroll to the top and pick your pgm. repeat these steps three times if you wanna set and assign all your playable programs

then on the go back to main screen. on each track you use scroll down to S: and pick which program, drum1, 2,3,4 you are gonna use for a given track . hope that solved your problem

yea Lampdog did a good job breaking down your problem, you need to learn a little about midi and you will see that its not that hard actually and the mannual will make more sense. bottom line each midi device's in and out has 16 channels. think of it like a TV. each station is like a sound playing. so your mpc tracks and sound module's patches/sound need to be on the same channel. if I did my bass on midi channel 1 than my bass track on my mpc needs to be set to midi channel 1. if I wanna use that sound on a different track , call it something esle on the mpc like chrousbas and still pick midi channel1. once I'm ready to use a different sound , (lets call this track gtr for this example) I need to change the midi channel on the sound modules first to ch 2 now ( bcuz remeber channel 1 is our bass) and then start my new track on the mpc name it gtr and set it to midi channel 2 .pretty much thats all it is to it. understanding midi is a big help. when you read up on it just don't forget that a channel and track is not the same thing and understand its purpose for having each, that should get you in the ball park
