long live the 2000xl. in the ealier post I stated a little wishlist about what features I wish the 2kxl had but can live with out it. for example I really wish it could resample into itself like the 1000 but whatever
I use to be intimidated by this machine for years and never knew how it worked, one day I scored some pot got the mannual and 2 sample kings dvd lessons and I became an animal overnight with that joint. I love the waveform editing, tunning , (I hear that most other mpc's do not have the large fine tunning increments as the 2kxl (-/+120 on the trim page and another -/+240 on the program page.) the pads can take a real beaten, the whole unit is pretty strong( new mpc models look cheap like plastic toys) they are ez to find cheap, I am the luckiest man in the world, only paid 400 bucks for a stock 2kxl, that joint didn't even have the memory upgrade
but for that price I pretty much had no choice. I knew an akai product would better that my previously owned sp505 ) since I got my mpc I made most of the upgrade option, I didnt get the eb16 since I have 8 outs and can use any fxs rack with the outs and a mixer with built in aux channels. I threw my zip drive out the window and got a mcd reader. alot of peolpe still dont know you can buy a card reader and install it in an old cheap 2kxl and you pretty much turn it into the new expensive blue mcd models.
