Share your knowledge on these two classic MPCs

I had a need to suddenly relocate to Illinois a little over a year ago, and ended up leaving the plastic side panels to my MPC in Louisiana. I went to my old residence to salvage some stuff and couldnt find them. Does anyone have an extra set of side panels that they are willing to part with? My MPC seems bare without them. Looking at it in that condition is very uninspiring. No inspiration = no muisc.

If any of you guys wuth custom side panels would be willing to help a brotha out, it would be much appreciated.

Try contacting forat.com, or vstservice.com.

Forat especially might have some, but they might be kinda pricey.

You could make some custom ones from wood maybe.

Already tried forat and havent heard back from vst. Make them? Im not fly with the jigsaw and router like that. LOL. I would probably need the plastic ones as a guide if I attempted to make them anyway.

Thanks for trying to help tho. Im sure somebody will come through.

Peace

Sorry I can add any more input but I was curious to know why the side panels were removed in the first place? Ive seen a couple of pics of 60 mk1's without side panels and always found it kinda odd. Whats the logic?

my mpc60 came without the side panels. the guy i got it from said he liked to take them off so the mpc could fit in a 19inch rack.

Why were they off? I would go back and forth between internal zip and floppy. I could not decide how I wanted it to do it. Plus I planned to cut a space in the desk I built at the time, to sit the MPC flush with the desktop. The "desk" was just a piece of wood with brackets holding it against the wall.

We will see how things transpire. I may actually try the jigsaw route and see if I can make em. I dunno though. I get this "they will look like crap" feeling about my finish carpentry skills.

Im sure a few people have extras. Im gonnna post on a few other forums when I get the time.

I would just make my own if i were you , you really wouldnt need many tools. TWO pieces of wood that can be precut at home depot to your specs even lowes should do it and some longer screws to accommodate the thicker wood panel.

Two pieces of wood? I feel ya. If I did wood, it would have to be like the custom ones at forat. Otherwise I think it would look just plain bootleg. LOL. The tricky part would be the "lip" deal that would need to be attached to the main piece. Im not not sure how to go about doing that one. It would be especially hard since I dont have my old panels to use as a guide.

Forat = too much $$$

rokuez
I really don't know any finish carpeneters, but it is a thought. Maybe Home Depo or Menards has someone working there that could help me out. Depends on the $$$ but that might be whats up.

Ummm wow. Thats a bit extra. The 60 is already huge... lol.

J-7234,
Bruh stop playing... I told you at the Rakim show, as soon as I find a way to put my baby back together we will discuss the transaction.
