can i sample directly from my computer thru USB to the MPC1k?
Whats the best way to sample from Computer to MPC....



equipment used:
Macbook
Pro Tools Mbox2
MPC 1K
Yamaha HS-80M

Yep, that's NOOB!

As stated exhaustively on this forum, 1k USB is for drive access/file transfers only. You can transfer a sampled .wav file but there is no realtime functionality, sampling or otherwise. For that, use the spdif connections.

If you have anymore questions like this I strongly suggest you download the manual from the support section of akaipro.com as all the basic functions are covered there.

to answer the first question: NO

as suggested by elektrik_muz, you can use your protools setup to record on the computer, then convert the sample to the correct format for the MPC (read the manual for this one!) and transfer it to the CF card in the MPC using the USB......

also, your MBOX should have audio outputs, which you could connect to the MPC REC IN, and sample your computer sounds directly.... again, how to is in the manual.

this is pretty basic pattern on this forum: NOOB ? = RTFM
