Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

yo im knee deep in basically my first real beat with the mpc

its not gon really be a 'beat' per say in the traditional sense - i just have a song that i basically want to "rearrange"

i want to just loop a couple of bars from the intro of the song and sequence them.

what is the best way to do this? i looped everything up last night and all - i can play it out on the pads exactly how i want it to sound

but with me something between that and the recording just is not working - i dont kno what it is - what im missing - but something is not registering with me.

i was having hell matching the loop to a sequence until i dug up a tip one of yall gave me that i saved and i hit the tap tempo button repeatedly and it kinda like automatically adjusted to the sequence to the loop. but i mean i recored each pad almost like its own sequence so that i could just switch from pad to pad like that u kno?

im saying alot but im probably not making sense - if anybody thinks they get what im asking / trying to figure out hit me back with you help

thanx

Copy the sequence, your "Meat" track and then re-arrange it accordingly. So you will have "Intro-seq" "Break-seq" Bridge etc, there are a lot of topics on how to build songs (*search). But mainly remember that if you arrange something you can COPY it and then delete insert blanks etc and then build it up in song mode. All the same timing and bpm. peace and one.

there isnt really a 'meat' track.....i want about 6 or 7 different loops to switch up interchangebly as i see fit

i feel u on the copy tip - however this particular beat i dont see how that would apply

im just trying to rearrange these breaks so they will play how i want them

its like

drum break
drum break with bassline
horn break 1
horn break 2
horn break 3
horn break 4
horn break 5
