ever played the game "operation?"
i used to STOMP kids

Image
the cover

Image
the frame onto which all pads go

Image
the tact switch (all small plastic buttons)

Image
metal sheets onto which the sensors were screwed to the chasis.

Image
the frame that held the rubber, sensor, and metal sheet together.

Image
pressure-transdusive conductive rubber. sits above the copper coils in the next pic

Image
front side of the sensor. the "active area." note that the coiled copper is actually 2 pieces, not touching.

Image
backside of the sensor, where the copper coils are soldered to the sensorcables in the next pic

Image
2 of the 16 sensor cables. these 2 pin cables just continue the path from the copper coils/conductive rubber. these plug into the pad pcb board via connectors in the next pic

Image
one of those cables broke the fk up

Image
these are 5 cable to pad pcb connectors. 2 pin, again. they are soldered into the next pic

Image Image
front and back of the padpcb where all the resistive sensors get plugged in. i desoldered everything on the front (green) side.

Image
this plugs into the pad pcb board and goes to the qlink slider board.

Image
this is my first rotary encoder, which i obliterated while makign edge city doing all that os 1.07 scrolling. rediculous. i took it apart so we can study it and buy a more durable one.

i'm not sure on what exploded stock means
but i'm not trying to sell these if that's what you're asking, this is just a kind of "public awareness" thing

what i meant was exploded as in the parts by themselves instead of assembled.

by stock i meant that these are not pictures of your custom pad design, but indeed the list of items that come stock from akai.

oh hey, now that you have a scanner, can you do a high-res scan of the face of the mpc 1000 for the lettering? try to keep it as close to 1:1 as possible?

fanks homie.

no problem.
since akai doesn't want to release a service manual for the mpc1000, i figure i can start and try to make some sort of open source once
