Hi guys,

i am trying to connect my KorgN5ex to the mpc, however when I press the Tempo/Sync button nothing shows up.

I'm new to the mpc game & not quite sure if I have to setup sth. else first before I can access that sync screen. Any constructive suggestions are appreciated, thanks in advance.

MIDI connections are not going to let you sample the sound of your synth into the MPC.

MIDI connections will let you send MIDI note on/off messages from the MPC to the synth, so that you can play the synth from the MPC sequencer/pads.

MIDI Clock will let you syncronize the sequencer in your synth with the sequencer in your MPC.

Hi Si,

I was under the impression that I could send midi data to the mp from my KORG for then the MPC to send the midi data back out to the KORG, hence midi in /out.

Are you saying that I can merely trigger sounds from MPC?

Pls if anyone reads this let me know how I can get the most out my current setup MPC3000LE & KORG N5EX....

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, only MIDI note on/off can be sent from the MPC sequencer to the N5EX.

You can use MIDI Sample Dump to send samples across a MIDI connection, if both devices support it, but I don't think this is what you have in mind.
