Headphones Out

I was testing the Headphones out for the first time since i got my MPC. It only plays in mono on the left side of my head Phones....Wassup with that?

Was the headphone plug pushed all the way in? Could it be the audio characteristics of the sample? Are the headphones broken? Check for these things, and report back.

Yup, I have checked everything. Headphones are brand new, connection all the way in. Its not a mono sample, its coming straight from the record in and its in stereo. Is yours coming in loud and clear?

try another pair of headphones, just incase.

Thats been the second pair. I tryed a smaller pair with the same results. I am using a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter for both headphones, i wonder if that has anything to do with it.

If you're using the same exact adaptor, that could be the problem. So keep going through the process of elimination and let us know what happens.

how many rings does the 1/8 to 1/4 inch adapter have? does it have 3 (tip, ring, sleeve aka TRS) or does it have only 2 (tip, sleeve aka TS)?

it's probably an 1/8 inch mono to 1/4 inch mono adapter, in which case you'd only get signal through one channel of the headphones.

Yanno what, that may be it. I think it only has 2 rings. I will take a look at it when i get home.
