Its funny you mention the octo because that is almost EXACTLY what i wanted to build... learned slightly after i first asked the questions..
And to the guy who said it IS possible. thats 1 pad, I want to copy 16 pads, a whole padbank, without doing that operation 16 times.

I'd only buy the octo if it did exactly what I want, and reading through the manual it might be missing a few shortcuts. like doing a section of different notes for one track using the grid height as the note pitch and grid width as position.
or holding a note button down and then pressing another button to the left of it to determine note length quickly.
