anyone else getting anything like that?

i played a snare drum part on 2 pads, but when i play it back i dont hear anything. the mpc recorded the pads all wrong...i was playing pad a6 but when i look in the step editor, it says pad c4!

and before i noticed in the note # field (in the step ediotr right next to where it says what pad the note is), it was registering vaules way over what midi allows... like it was saying my pad a1 was note # 357, etc.

i rebooted several times but it's still there!

any ideas?

thanks!

i just spoke to akai tech support. it turns out it was a corrupted program, one i had created with the "Mpc1000 PGM" app by nosounds. cool program, i got no beef with the dude who makes it. just saying what happened in case someone else runs into a similar problem.

Whoa.
This just happened to me right after reading this thread.
In my case, I was hitting C5 and it was recording A4.
I returned one MPC1000 already because it was not recording pad B10 into sequences from any of my programs and the Akai support guy said it must be a hardware problem.
I too have been using this .pgm maker, maybe it is to blame?
Anyone know of a bug-free program maker for Macs?
I'd even pay for one if it could create/save all the tuning, filter, env, etc. information.

sorry, i had not made it clear. the pgm maker we are using is what causes this. it only happens sometimes. if you recreate the pgm from scratch (without the pgm maker) you should be fine

and again, no dis to the guy who makes the app! please keep working on it, i think it is a great idea

It is a great idea, and I'll be the first in line to pay for one that works properly. Does anyone know of one? It's a lot easier to browse and preview hundreds of samples on a computer than it is on the MPC.
