It's a funny feeling to see things you report get fixed even when you don't mention them here.
So far I will say even with the free versions JJ was pretty good about fixing things reported.

ok i know youve heard this a bunch, but is upgrading to jj os worth it? are any important functions in your workflow lost?

The general work flow is the same, there are some changes but given a few hours of use you'll find the changes to be far better imho.

Your best bet is to download the JJ OS and download a copy of the Akai OS. Install the JJ OS and have a play (it's fully functioning before you pay for it, you just can't save). If you like it, buy it, if you don't, reinstall the akai one.

To behonest I'd be very suprised if you didn't make the paypal payment within 30mins of trying it out

I just upgraded to jj's os and so far it's making my work flow a lot better. The chop shop alone functions much better than the regular akai os. Try it. If you don't like it you can always switch back to the standard akai os.

Totally agree with the comments here; I downloaded it and played with it for about 20 mins and bought it. The workflow improvements are throughout the entire OS, and while some are minor, taken together it all adds up to a much nicer, more productive creative flow.

Each of us works differently, thus everyone opinions on what they like about the JJ OS will differ; but collectively it seems to point to a better experience.

It does feel a bit more complex, but only because a lot of functions are brought to the forefront and exposed directly. You get used to it pretty quickly, and I'd probably be hard-pressed to go back.

It takes a pretty short time to figure out that JJ make the 2.5k a far superior machine.

Far superior? The jury is still out on that. When we can go through an extended period without getting an OS release that primarily fixes bugs..then I may deserve the title of being superior.

As far as software..if you are not using a software based DAW with your MPC....you don't know what you are missing.

Yes Akai's extended period of NO updates to a buggy OS is FAR superior.
