Do you guys think its possible to put a midi learn function in the mpc? so you can control certain function with external controllers?

i came to think about this because im gonna buy a mpd 24 so i have better pads for the mpc but also for use with my macbook but i dont think the transport buttons and the sliders and knobs will have any function when connected to the mpc.

you mean machine specific functions, like mode entry etc?
cuz midi cc => qlink is going in next month.

would be nice if one could controll Cutoff, resonance and prolly the envelopes of samples from an external midicontroller.

you will be able to, as well as level and start/end point!

that's actually coming soon, from what i understand.
very excited about that, though i'd like to see even more parameters (filter envelope, amp envelope, effects, etc. etc.) controlled, so that i can assign them all to control at once on my axiom 49. :D

yes but also the transport controls would be nice to work on a mpd 24
( i think my stop knob broke because its wiggly...after only a year of use )

filter envelope

we definitely need to see automation of this
AND LFO depth

no doubt.
i'm still on my first cup of coffee, so i know i'm not remembering everything that's good for controlling. so i'll have to drink more coffe, fire up the mpc and look for every available sound-shaping parameter i can find. then afterwards, make a list for a solid reference. :)

make a list for a solid reference. Smile

!! excellent idea. start a new thread with that please, for informational purposes

yeah, definitely. i just need more time to go through everything and drink more coffee. but i'll evaluate everything i find to see what's feasible before starting that thread. then if there's anything that i happen not to include for whatever reason, we can all debate about it in order to determine what's possible and what's not (if that's the case). 8)

This is something I would really like to have... especially since i have transport controls on the axiom 49, and i'd like to avoid as much wear and tear on the mpc as possible, as well as simply having more external control in general. So that will definitely be on my list.

Being able to contol the data wheel might be a good idea too, since the wear and tear on the encoder seems to be very significant as well.

Let me get some more coffee and breakfast running through my system, and i'll be getting on with that list shortly.

this will truly EMBOLDEN the mpc 1000,a real threat to intergalactic stability.......

should be ez to connect all functions to midi cc....both directions, and recording into the new( i propose) "control tracks".......lots of possibilities there-
and remote control of the transport.....gosh.....ummm....yyyaaaBBBOOOIIEEEE!!!!!!!!!
