Programming Track Mutes

I've got a guitar sample that runs from 001:01:00 to 004:01:00. What I want to do is insert a mute between 002:01:00 to 002:03:00. I've gone into seq edit and inserted a track mute 'on' at 002:01:00 and then inserted a track mute 'off' at 002:03:00. The pad is set to one shot and in the misc settings the the mute/stop samples is set to immediate. I've enabled track mutes. When I run the seq the mute occurs at the correct place but once the mute is turned off again the remaining part of the sample doesn't play. It works if I do it manually but I need to be able to program it in for accuracy. I've seen this in other threads but they seem inconclusive. Anyone help?

This can't be done as far as i know....a workaround would be to do a 2 bar SEq with the mute edited out of the sample . In other words bring the sample into Trim mode and add silence to the part you want to mute save the sample as sample 2 and then load it into your pgm and sequence it that way .....Or when you track the beat to a DAW/ just edit it out , that seems to be the logical way...no?

Cheers for that. By sheer luck I cut it perfect first time with the sliders. If only it was that easy everytime.
