Midi expert advice needed!!!!! 911!!!!!!!!

Great idea! Here's what you do, man. Set your keyboard midi out to the mpcs midi in. Now set up your keyboard so it sends midi program changes (you will have to look in the manual for your keyboard to find out how to do this).

Now open up the step edit window on the mpc (make sure its set for MIDI : 1A). Now send a program change from your keyboard. Some info should pop up on the step edit screen. That's the info you need to do program changes (whatever it is). Then, using that, you can figure out how to set the other patches. Good luck.

I'M STILL HAVING THIS PROBLEM ON MY ROLAND RS-5, ONCE A SYNTH SOUND IS PUT ON A TRACK & YOU MOVE ON TO THE NEXT TRACK,& UR SCROLLING THRU THE KEYBOARD TO USE ANOTHER THE ORIGINAL SOUND CHANGES. THIS MIDI SH*T, IT'S FRUSTRATING.

I suggested this about a month ago when he originaly asked for help with this issue, I downloaded the manual and found nothing on how to transmit midi messages from his keyboard(I only gave it a quick once over). Needless to say if we could figure out how to transmit midi messages we could resolve this issue much quicker.

MANTIS69, make sure your keyboard is in performance mode, this is the multi-timbral mode for Roland gear.

I just went over the manual again, check out page 146 and make sure your board is setup to receive and transmit midi messages. I also saw something about sys ex messages on that page but it doesn't mention how to trigger the dump.
