Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Does any body know how many files you can put on a
100mb zip disk via computer that the mpc xl will recognise?
How many folders should you create? and how many files
should be the max per folder ? Last night I was successful
in creating a 69mb disk with 7 folders containing kicks, snares
hats etc. I like to chopp drums and samples in sound forge
and tranfer to zip disk . I tried to create another zip with
drums and other sounds and was successful with 1 out of 3
disks. Two of them became unusable on the mpc and the
computer. My operating system is xp and I have it installed
on a partiton using fat 32 . I know there's got to be a way
because akai ships zip disk with drums and samples from the
factory that when you put it in a p.c you can see the files and
the disk is in a p.c format and when you put it in the mpc xl it
sees the disk as a pc formatted disk. I haven't formatted the disk
in neither machine because I know that the zips are already p.c
formatted which the mpc can read and the p.c . Once again I'm
out of two brand new disk that neither machinde can read or
format ..the next step is I'm going to call akai and ask them how
can it be done/

Format your ZIP on PC using fat/fat16.
Stick with using 8 character or less filenames.
On the ZIP use folders to store samples and
DON"T just throw samples into the ZIP root.

I have a 250 internal ide zip w/ 2kxl. I use this method and it works fine. I'm able to utilize the whole 250mb of my zip disk.
