memory upgrade instructions

Hi guys, I bought a memory upgrade for the MPC500 but it didn't come with instructions. Does anyone know where I can find instructions for this? or if anybody knows how to do it would they mind giving step by step instructions.

Open up the battery compartment, stick it in.

I didn't check out the video yet. But I did open it up and it looked pretty obvious where it went so I put it in. First it said (128 meg) so I thought it was good to go but then the screen went to(Inv. Gen. Inst.) followed by (PC) and a bunch of numbers and letters. Uh oh, this doesn't look good. Any idea what's going on? I've tried it several times and the same thing happens. Although the first time it said something else but I didn't write it down.

You did turn it off before you put it in, din't you?

You also need to be careful with static electricity when handling RAM. Hold it by the edges, ground yourself to the device by touching a metal part of the chassis, etc.

Is the RAM the correct specs for the MPC500?

Yes, I did turn it off.
Was very careful handling it and did ground myself first.
I'll have to check the specs but the guy I bought it from took it from an MPC500 so I'm assuming it was good.
I was just wondering if it was as simple as plugging it in and away it goes or if there were things I had to do like formatting or something. I have a feeling it's a bum unit.

it was just not in there all the way the same thing happend to me, make sure it really clicks in....

Oh yeah, I've taken it out and put it back in, and made sure it clicked, many times.
