The way I use the effects, if at all , is to get the sound I'm look'n for then resample it so I can sequence it into the whole piece. That way I have the sound or effect I'm look'n for and I don't have to use the effects as a whole.

Yeah, I see the whole gimmick thing. As for sound shaping and developing, you can be creative with it, resample the sound & turn it off. If I really want to do some sound shaping, I use Sound Forge or Audition with some kule plug-ins. Drop the sample into the MPC, then B A M M, instant vintage!

one thing you should or could take into thought is that as producer you want to get to close a finished product as possible whilst making the beat. relying solely on after mixing wont help you, its best to process your sounds as you make your beat so by the time it goes to mix all the hard work is done already... and your ready for your live shows...

Right, I don't understand you. "As a producer" i'm trying to get the sound I want inside MPC that's why I need eq.
Or do u really think its comfortable to process the sounds in PC while mixing it in MPC?

PS. BTW Im playing my live shows routinely. So don't be so scared

you guys do realize there is an eq on this thing, and that you have to resample to put it to use? as long as you know your frequencies, it shouldnt be a big problem... eqs are realtime processes, and as such are likely to add up to too much for the CPU. if we keep ideas like this limited to non-realtime processes then we can add as many as we want! this is no computer we are dealing with, its a box with finite capabilities.
