does anyone have a tip to increase the input level?
I use a vestax pmc 05 pro2 mixer to record my samples, put I never hit the rec. gain level on the mpc.
Normalizing is not a option for me, because you can't adjust levels in trim mode.

What about some sort of pre-amp??

I don't know much about pre amps. What kind of pre amp do you suggest? Thanx

Well it was just a suggestion, I don't know much about them either..lol. I use the 500 for portable purposes' and not in my main studio, it is more or less for getting an idea started or working at a friends house.Although I have plugged it into my main studio and do agree that the output volume is pretty low. You may want to ask about pre-amps in the Production forums or the Studio Environments forums.

Change it from Line to Mic on the MPC?

Turn up the level on your mixer?

Are you saying that you do not get the record level meter all the way to the right when sampling?

Why is normalizing not an option, I don't understand?

I have the main gain full open and the channel gain for my mixer one in the red ( 0 db ) . I do want anything to sound distorted, so I keep it that way.
Normalizing is not a option, because

If I would sample a complete drumbreak, and a hihat-solo from a other track, the hihats would sound to hard after normalizing.since you can't adjust levels in trim mode, only in proram mode, it would be difficult to work in trim mode (switching between trim and program mode would get my neighbours pissed and give me headeaches).
